aboutus
Art-for All Gallery in the quaint village of Storms River in the Tsitsikamma region of South Africa first opened its doors in 2012 as Bitou Art Gallery & Studio.
One of our first exhibitions was entitled Art-4-All... small, framed paintings by our four resident artists which we sold at a very reasonable price. The idea was that art should not be the exclusive domain of a few who consider themselves somehow superior when it comes to art appreciation and look down on those not in their small clique of chardonnay sipping “aficionados”. Instead, art should be accessible to everyone, whether you’re a big collector or just someone who enjoys walking through a gallery admiring lovely things.
Our exhibition made it possible for almost anyone to become an art collector. And you didn’t need a cent to come in and appreciate art. You were welcome whether you were wearing your bathing costume and flip flops or a three-piece suite.
That has been our philosophy since then. Our little gallery welcomes all our local artists to display with us. We have a wide range of high-quality art in different mediums at affordable prices. We offer signed, numbered prints of our best pieces, mounted and ready for framing at low prices, enabling anyone to enter the exciting and fulfilling world of art collecting. We support local community projects, hold regular exhibitions and offer art courses for both the beginner and experienced artists. (see Art Courses on this website.)
We do indeed continuously try to embody that earlier sentiment that art should be made accessible to everyone. Thus... Art-for-All Gallery. You’re welcome to come visit - in your bathing costume or Armani suit.
Artists represented at present are Johan Brink (Owner), Susan Kemp, Elzette Bester, Nathalie Strassburg, Ita Froneman, Deon Coetzer and Marlene Liebenberg.
